“In the first place, it is to be remembered, that the general government is not to be charged with the whole power of making and administering laws: its jurisdiction is limited to certain enumerated objects, which concern all the members of the republic, but which are not to be attained by the separate provisions of any.” –James Madison
This is limited Government. This new Government was designed to help enhance the pursuit of happiness and well being for all Americans. A Government specifically assembled to make way for WE The People, succinctly, to pursue their goals and dreams. Congress, the house of Representatives, was charged with carrying out the majority of WE THE People’s wishes. The key word here is “Representatives.” The reason we despise this Government today, which by and large is not the Government the founders created, is because all of the above is no longer true or valid. We are now back to where we were prior to Independence day.
